Living with Integrity
July 21st, 2007 by jim1537
Living with integrity means:
- Not settling for less than what you know you deserve in your relationships.
- Asking for what you want and need from others.
- Speaking your truth, even though it might create conflict or tension.
- Behaving in ways that are in harmony with your personal values.
- Making choices based on what you believe, and not what others believe.

Jim, over the years, you have taught me well!!
I have been able to live by most of this in personal relationships, while it periodically stirs the pot, the relationships that continue to flourish are a testimony to mutual honesty, values, respect & caring. It takes courage, but is tremendously rewarding & raises the quality of relationships.
However, I do feel myself cramped & stifled in the work arena, where people are not obliged to care. The very fact that I work, where the org. values don’t jibe with mine, the respect & care, I deserve is not quite there, perhaps compromises my integrity a little bit everyday. While I remain unwavering in my integrity & “ask”, I am working to muster the courage to walk away from that which is much less than what I deserve…. TY
